SALES AND MARKETING SPECIALIST

Job Description

 

  1. Strategy Development & Execution 
  • Evaluate existing strategies and design a unified sales & marketing plan targeting key  logistic sector. 
  • Translate corporate objectives into quarterly and annual targets, ensuring synergy between marketing campaigns and sales activities. 
  1. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification 
  • Conduct in-depth research on Tanzania’s logistics landscape, including competitor services, regulatory trends, and customer pain points in import/export processes. 
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential B2B sub-segments (e.g., e-retailers, distributors, NGOs) and develop sales strategies to capture the markets.  
  1. Lead Generation & Campaign Management 
  • Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns (email, LinkedIn, industry events, webinars) to generate qualified leads for Aquantuo’s shipping and 3PL offerings. 
  • Collaborate with the content team to produce case studies, and localized marketing assets that showcase Aquantuo’s competitive edge. 
  1. Sales Process & Team Leadership 
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and closing. 
  • Implement CRM best practices to ensure accurate forecasting, deal staging, and customer touchpoint tracking. 
  1. Partnership & Channel Development 
  • Build strategic alliances to expand Aquantuo’s customer base. 
  • Oversee partner programs such as joint promotions to drive co-selling initiatives. 
  1. Tender Management & Proposal Support 
  • Monitor government and corporate tender portals for shipping and logistics bids, crafting compelling proposals that leverage Aquantuo’s end-to-end solutions. 
  1. Brand & Messaging 
  • Refine Aquantuo’s brand positioning in Tanzania, ensuring it resonates with local businesses. 
  • Collaborate with the content team on digital and print marketing materials to support promotional events and thought leadership or marketing campaigns. 
  1. Performance Analysis & Feedback Loop 
  • Track sales metrics and campaign ROI, conducting monthly analysis to adjust strategies where necessary. 
  • Gather frontline customer insights and relay feedback to internal teams for continuous service improvement. 
  1. Project Management 
  • Participate or lead cross-functional projects—such as expansion, ensuring success of projects.  
  1. Customer Success & Retention 
  • Partner with Customer Management teams to design upsell and renewal campaigns, driving repeat business and long-term partnerships. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of five years’ B2B sales experience in logistics, e-commerce, or international trade. 
  • Proven track record in developing and executing complex sales strategies and marketing campaigns. 
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret market data and sales performance. 
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing and scaling sales teams. 
  • Deep understanding of Tanzanian trade facilitation, customs requirements, and 3PL operations. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in proposal writing. 
  • Self-driven with a bias for action and timely decision-making. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (HubSpot or Salesforce). 
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
