DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fastening and unfastening the ropes of the boat/ferry
- Ensuring the safety of passengers and vehicles inside the boat/ferry
- Arranging passengers or vehicles on the boat/ferry
- Operating and steering the boat/ferry
- Keeping the boat/ferry journey logbooks
- Ensuring that the ferry engines are in good working condition
- Checking fuel and other work equipment
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Employed candidates must have completed the Form Four examination, with proven skills in operating and maintaining boats/ferries certified by the Dar es Salaam Marine Institute or any other government-recognized institution for not less than two years; and must have completed six months of training in lifesaving, swimming, and arranging people and vehicles on boats/ferries.
