Ifakara Health Institute is seeking ten (10) qualified Field Interviewers to support field-based data collection, quality assurance, and documentation processes. The roles will operate under the supervision of senior researchers and consultants.
Collect, clean, and validate quantitative and qualitative data in line with study protocols
Ensure ethical, high-quality data collection compliant with IHI and national research standards
Participate in training on study tools, electronic data collection (CAPI), and research ethics
Administer structured questionnaires to households, caregivers, and service providers
Conduct observations, data verification, and checks at health, community, and ECD centers
Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of data using tablets or mobile devices
Support quality control activities such as revisits, validations, and spot checks
Coordinate field logistics and permissions with district and regional officials
Report daily progress, challenges, and data quality issues to the Field Coordinator
Maintain strict data confidentiality and adhere to all ethical approvals from NIMR and IHI-IRB
Proficiency in data collection software (SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, ODK, or CSPro)
Strong quantitative data handling and record-keeping skills
Knowledge of research ethics and confidentiality principles
Ability to work in rural settings with minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity and professional conduct
Certificate in Sociology, Social Work, Science subjects, or a related field from a recognized institution
At least 3 years’ experience in field data collection or research implementation
Experience in health, nutrition, or ECD projects is an added advantage
Fluency in both English and Swahili

The ICT User Support Intern will collaborate with the ICT team at the Ifakara Branch to support LAN infrastructure, monitor network devices, and ensure smooth operation of all IT systems in line with IHI requirements.
Provide comprehensive IT support to branch users
Facilitate internal document sharing to improve data security and reduce redundancy
Manage and maintain branch LAN and wireless infrastructure
Monitor network devices daily and resolve performance issues
Install and manage printing systems and user access
Support staff connectivity to IHI wireless networks
Facilitate software installation and management for users
Document all ICT devices and computers, including specifications and user details
Perform quarterly preventive maintenance on IHI computers
Ensure availability and functionality of desktop phones across offices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong user support and communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and apply technical knowledge effectively
Degree in Information Communication and Technology
Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swahili
