Senior Relationship Manager; Chinese Desk (1 Position)

Location: Head Office

Job Purpose: To develop, maintain, and grow relationships with the Asian Desk portfolio of corporate clients, while promoting and selling NMB’s products and services to meet their financial needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with current, prospective, and future corporate clients under the Asian Desk through communication, visits, and other mechanisms.
  • Find solutions for customers’ financial needs, including investment, borrowing, and transactional banking.
  • Benchmark NMB’s products and services against competitors and identify sales strategies.
  • Involve senior bank executives in key client engagements.
  • Monitor portfolio clients and track business development.
  • Partner with product teams to deliver client-focused account plans.
  • Manage asset and liability development with reputable organizations.
  • Maintain high-quality assets for excellent performance and returns.
  • Adhere to professional standards and provide competitive pricing.
  • Identify target pipelines, market new customers, and exploit cross-selling.
  • Gather information for credit applications.
  • Manage the portfolio in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain operational controls and adhere to risk and compliance guidelines.
  • Embed NMB values and ethics.
  • Consult with Risk, Credit, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Achieve performance objectives in corporate banking.
  • Participate in bank projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of bank’s customer base, market segments, products, services, policies, and regulations.
  • Skills in customer relationship management, communication, decision-making, and more.
  • Understanding of Chinese Mandarin is required; other Asian languages are an advantage.
  • Experience with banking solutions for corporate clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Research, or related fields.
  • Relevant certifications; Master’s or banking certifications are advantages.
  • Minimum 4 years in relationship management for large corporates, emerging corporates, SMEs, or branch/business center management.
  • Experience in credit assessment and management.
