Job purpose

The Director, Project Studies leads the development and delivery of mining project studies across the full study lifecycle, including Concept, Pre-Feasibility, and Feasibility stages. The role oversees small projects below USD 10 million, medium projects between USD 10 million and USD 100 million, and major projects above USD 100 million.

The position ensures that all studies align with company standards, investment criteria, and strategic objectives. It also coordinates multidisciplinary teams, manages study execution, integrates projects into budget and capital planning processes, and maintains the Project Pipeline. Regular travel to operational sites is required.

Key responsibilities

Study leadership and delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of project studies, including Study Reports, Project Execution Plans, and Operational Readiness Plans.
  • Ensure study outputs meet or exceed company standards, governance requirements, and investment requirements.
  • Define project scope, options, objectives, and success criteria with project sponsors.
  • Establish project charters and manage study phase transitions through close-out.

Project management and controls

Qualifications and experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ demonstrated experience in the process and extractive industries.
