WWF works as part of a growing global movement calling for stronger action on climate and nature. The organization advocates for world leaders to set nature on the path to recovery by 2030.
WWF addresses major drivers of nature loss through system-wide changes in how food and energy are produced and consumed, and how financial systems are structured. Through action in different countries, WWF aims to create visible and positive impact in critical places around the world, including areas such as the Amazon and the Coral Triangle.
WWF also recognizes that conservation will only be sustainable if it is owned by, and benefits, local people. Indigenous Peoples and local communities must therefore be at the centre of climate and nature action. WWF is committed to using its resources and global network to support these communities in developing effective local solutions.
WWF Tanzania is implementing the People Powering Biodiversity (PPB) Project, which channels program resources directly to community institutions in the Ruvuma Landscape. The project supports locally driven conservation and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
