Restless Development is a non-for-profit organization registered in Tanzania working directly in 21 regions. Our head office is in Iringa (Wilolesi Street, P.O. Box 737), with offices in Dar es Salaam and Dodoma.

The Opportunity
Restless Development Tanzania invites applications from qualified professionals with strong experience in youth and development to serve as Members of the Board of Directors.
Board Directors provide strategic oversight, governance, and advisory support, strengthening leadership and accountability, supporting sustainable growth, and advancing impactful youth-led development across Tanzania.
We are seeking individuals with expertise in one or more of the areas below:
- Governance and Compliance Provide strategic oversight on governance and regulatory compliance, ensure the periodic review of organizational policies, contracts, and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and oversee legal risk management and adherence to Tanzanian laws and applicable partner and donor compliance requirements.
- Finance and audit Provide oversight of budgets, financial reports, and internal controls; oversee audit planning, review audit findings, and monitor implementation of agreed actions; and advise on financial risk management, accountability, and value-for-money to promote organizational sustainability. CPA qualification is an added advantage.
- Strategy, Quality & Learning Provide strategic input on program design, implementation, and quality assurance; strengthen monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) to improve results; advise on program risk management, safeguarding, and alignment with organizational strategy.
- Fundraising & Sustainability Support fundraising strategy and donor relationship management; identify and cultivate new funding opportunities (institutional donors, foundations, corporate partnerships); provide guidance on proposal development and sustainable growth planning.
- Private sector engagement Advise on building strategic partnerships with businesses and industry networks; support development of shared-value collaborations (CSR, youth employment, skills development, entrepreneurship); provide market insight to strengthen youth economic empowerment initiatives.
- Digital transformation Guide the organization in leveraging digital tools to improve program reach and operational efficiency; advise on digital strategy, innovation, data governance, and cybersecurity awareness; strengthen digital engagement approaches for youth, communications, and learning.

This call is open to Tanzanian citizens aged 18 years and above. Women and young people (under the age of 35) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Board meetings may be held in-person and/or virtually, depending on needs. Board Members serve voluntarily and receive no remuneration. However, reasonable, pre-approved expenses incurred while carrying out official Board duties may be reimbursed in line with organizational policies.
