Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer, operating a single mine in the Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries across four continents.

The mine is located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of Northwestern Tanzania, approximately 85 km from Mwanza City and 20 km southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. GGML’s head office is located in Geita, about 5 km west of the fast-growing town of Geita, with a supporting office in Dar es Salaam.

Objective of the Role

The Dispatcher – Underground Mining will be responsible for providing message relay services within underground mining processes. The role involves safely managing and maintaining underground machine movements and status.

The position also ensures that every person going underground is tagged on the board and properly accounted for before firing.

Role Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Monitor and update the digital and physical tagging system to ensure accurate personnel tracking throughout the shift.
• Coordinate with Emergency Response Teams during underground incidents by providing location data and supporting rapid response.
• Maintain real-time logs of mining activities, equipment assignments, and operator allocation to improve shift transparency.
• Assist in optimizing equipment allocation to reduce operational delays and improve shift productivity.
• Ensure effective handovers between shifts by preparing clear and concise reports for incoming dispatchers and supervisors.
• Support production teams by tracking cycle times and identifying inefficiencies for continuous improvement.
• Validate operator feedback on equipment performance and promptly communicate abnormalities to the maintenance team.
• Monitor environmental conditions reported from underground, including ventilation or water-related issues, and escalate them as required.
• Assist supervisors in coordinating scheduled maintenance windows by ensuring machines are available at the correct times.
• Contribute to daily production meetings by providing accurate and timely dispatch data and insights.
• Uphold company safety policies by ensuring immediate reporting and documentation of anomalies or unsafe conditions.
• Participate in system or technology upgrades related to dispatching, including digital dispatch tools and data-capture platforms.
• Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready dispatch records for operational and compliance purposes.

Role Requirements

Education and Qualification

Applicants must have:

• Completion of Secondary School Education, Form Four.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Applicants should possess the following:

• A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Mine Dispatcher.
• Experience in using a two-way radio communication device.
• General overview of underground mining processes, including CAF filling.
• Understanding of underground mining terminologies.
• Ability to properly plan and execute assigned work.
