Electrical Technician

Mbeya Cement Company Limited, a member of Amsons Group, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Electrical Technician based at the Mbeya Plant under a permanent employment contract.

The reporting line for the position is to the Team Leader.

Main responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, appliances and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and fault solving.
• Diagnose the electrical circuit breakers, transformers and other components to make sure they operate at full capacity.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and needs for adjustment or repairs and correct all findings as per standards.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical equipment and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
• Repair/replace wiring, equipment and fixtures, install ground lead and connect power cables to equipment such as Motors.

Qualifications

Education

Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

Minimum three (3) years of experience in manufacturing/extractive industries.

Technical and behavioural competencies required

• Technical knowledge in cement manufacturing process.
• Technical knowledge of electrical maintenance operations and equipment.
• Technical knowledge in Electricity distribution and transmission.
• Ability to multi-task effectively.
• High level of integrity and self-discipline.
• Innovative.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
