SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is a Dutch-based international development organisation that provides market-based solutions for the poor through local institutions and organisations in 24 developing countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
SNV works in agriculture, energy, and water, sanitation and hygiene. The organisation has built a long-term local presence in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Its global team of local and international advisors works with local partners to equip communities, businesses, and organisations with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to increase incomes and gain access to basic services. This empowers communities to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.
With more than 50 years of experience supporting Tanzanian communities, SNV has a strong track record of achieving scale and sustainability that creates lasting impact for people living in poverty. SNV Tanzania’s diverse portfolio covers climate-smart agriculture, landscape conservation, renewable energy, and water, sanitation and hygiene.
Empowering Smallholder Farmers for Food Security and Climate Resilience, known as NOURISH Tanzania, is a five-year project that aims to achieve resilient food security and improve nutrition for smallholder farmer households in key regions of Tanzania.
The project focuses on two areas that both experience food insecurity and malnutrition, but in different ways:
The project has reached its mid-term stage and has laid a strong foundation by improving smallholder farmer households’ knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and nutrition practices. It has also strengthened engagement with critical stakeholders.

Through this internship placement, the project will enhance its field presence and community engagement, strengthen linkages and service delivery, and broaden outreach.
The Field Intern will support the implementation of NOURISH Project activities at community level. The intern will work closely with farmers, local leaders, extension officers, and other stakeholders in the target areas.
This is a field-based role involving support for community mobilisation, delivery of agriculture and nutrition-related activities, monitoring field progress, and documenting results. The role contributes to the effective implementation of project interventions.
The successful candidate will have one to two years of relevant experience in the agriculture and nutrition sector, with practical exposure to community engagement and field activity support.
The intern should be comfortable working with rural communities through mobilisation and training. They should also be able to support accurate data collection, data entry, data analysis, reporting, and effective coordination of field activities while actively learning.
