We are audience-led, market-driven with a clear mission to empower the nation. We are looking for a motivated and highly experienced individual to fill the position of:

Freelancer Business Executive – (Dodoma, Moshi, Arusha, Tanga)

Purpose

To develop, maintain and increase a solidly dependable client base, to sell advertising space and provide an effective service to clients so as to maximize advertising sales volumes and revenue targets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly familiarizes oneself with comparative (own and competition) readership, circulation, advertising rates, and costs across all platforms including Print, Digital, Events, and Electronic media (e.g., E-paper).
  • Identifies potential advertising clients, studies their business models and customer base, and effectively communicates the value and benefits of advertising through Mwananchi Communications Ltd platforms, including Newspapers, Websites, Social Media, and Events.
  • Executes sales by obtaining clear client requirements, including ad size, placement dates, and pricing. Ensures all orders are confirmed through a signed authorization by the client representative.
  • Assists clients in developing their advertising copy and coordinates with the Graphic Design team to ensure high-quality artwork and effective presentation.
  • Responsible for booking clients’ adverts into the system, ensuring that all necessary documentation (such as signed order forms, artwork, and client approvals) is attached. Must also seek and obtain all required internal approvals to support the booking and guarantee smooth processing and timely publication.
  • Prepares and submits daily call plans (Itineraries) and sales activity reports (via email or physical meetings), reviews them with the Classified Business Manager, and escalates any challenges for timely resolution and support.
  • Following up the collection of payments for all sales closed, ensuring timely follow-up with clients to settle outstanding invoices in line with company credit terms.
  • Shares weekly collection reports, detailing amounts collected per client and outstanding balances to confirm collections status with the line manager or finance liaison.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client interactions, sales pipeline status, and payment follow-ups to ensure transparency and accountability in all transactions.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Academic: Basic university degree in business studies or related fields.

Experience: 2-3 years working experience
