Job Purpose
The Front Office Manager leads the front desk and guest relations operations, serving as a primary guardian of the resort’s service culture. This role ensures seamless arrival and departure experiences, personalized guest engagement, and effective cross-departmental coordination (Housekeeping, Reservations, F&B) to uphold Relais & Châteaux and Michelin Key standards.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Departmental Leadership & Guest Experience:
Lead, mentor, and inspire the Front Office team to deliver warm, discreet, and tailored service.
Oversee guest arrivals, check-ins, stays, and departures, ensuring all preferences and special requests are anticipated and fulfilled.
Act as the welcoming face of the resort, handling complex guest queries and resolving challenges with grace and professional authority.
Operational & Inter-Departmental Coordination:
Maintain strong daily alignment with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Reservations teams to guarantee seamless guest itineraries.
Utilize Property Management Systems (PMS) to track guest histories, room allocations, occupancy, and revenue goals.
Establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain boutique 5-star quality controls.
Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience in Luxury Front Office or Guest Relations roles within boutique 5-star resorts or high-end luxury hotels.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or professional certification in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related discipline.
Destination Knowledge: Prior experience in East Africa or Indian Ocean luxury island destinations is highly advantageous.
Technical & Language Skills:
System Knowledge: High proficiency in Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera or equivalent PMS software).
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (written & spoken). Spoken French is a strong advantage; Swahili or additional languages are a plus.

Proven leadership ability to inspire a diverse team while preserving an intimate hospitality environment.
