Role Overview

 

The HR Business Partner (HRBP)  role is a strategic and hands-on position responsible for aligning people initiatives with the Bank’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and line managers on people strategy, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Translate the Bank’s business strategy into practical HR initiatives that support growth, productivity, and risk management.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with business leaders to ensure the Bank attracts, hires, and retains the right talent in line with current and future business needs.
  • Oversee workforce planning, succession planning, and talent pipelines, particularly for critical and revenue-generating roles.
  • Ensure recruitment practices align with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

 

Performance Management & Capability Development

  • Drive effective performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning.
  • Identify capability gaps and work with HR teams to design learning and development interventions.
  • Support leadership development and coaching initiatives for managers and high-potential employees.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant handling of cases.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with the Bank’s values, ethics, and service standards.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and advise management on engagement insights and actions.
 

HR Governance, Policies & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with labor laws, banking regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal controls related to HR matters. Advise management on HR risk areas and mitigation strategies.

  • Head of Human Resources
  • Senior Management and Business Unit Heads

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant professional HR certification will be an added advantage.
  • 10 years’ progressive HR experience, with significant experience in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience operating as an HR Business Partner or in a senior HR advisory role.
