The Clinical Officer is expected to work within the existing clinical research platform of Heart and Lung Clinic, CDCI, Emergency department, and IMC-SFRH in the implementation of Sacubitril Valsartan study activities at Ifakara. Responsibilities
Screening of eligible patients for the studies done at the heart and lung clinic, St. Francis regional referral hospital.
Attend and manage patients with chronic heart failure at the heart and lung clinic
Participate in quantitative data collection
Tracking of patients who do not come for their follow up visit in collaboration with the community health workers
Follow up of lab and radiological investigation findings for the study participants and record them in the electronic system
Be ready to work on any other relevant duties allocated by the project principal investigator/ project leader

Provide health education to individual patient, group of people, in mass media and during community outreach events.
Participate in quantitative and qualitative data collection in studies conducted at Heart and Lung Clinic.

Job Summary
Ifakara Health Institute is looking a qualified Research Officer to be stationed at Bagamoyo Branch to ensure ensure the delegated phases of the study are conducted in accordance with agreed protocols and that high quality data and reports are produced on time and to the satisfaction of the sponsor where applicable following the principles of GLP.
Responsibilities
Ensure that the procedures specified in the study plan are followed inform the study director and take appropriate corrective action if deviations from SOPs or study plans occur during the conduct of the study.
Participate in the writing of the study protocol and respond to comments if any.
Participate in the planning of the conduct of the study experiments and its necessary arrangements.
Assist in writing the final report and ensure the validity of the data in compliance with principles of GLP.
Prepare and present oral and written reports as required by Project partners or Test Facility Manager.
Ensure that the procedures specified in the study plan are followed, assess and document the impact of any deviations from the study plan on the quality and integrity of the study and take appropriate corrective action if necessary; acknowledge deviations from SOPs during the conduct of the study.
Ensure that all raw data generated are fully documented and recorded.
Ensure that computerized systems used in the study have been validated and all equipment are calibrated and fit for use.
Ensure that after completion (including termination) of the study, the study plan, the final report, raw data and supporting material are archived.
Any other reasonable duty that maybe assigned by the supervisor.
