BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:: WFP Tanzania through its Country Strategic Plan (CSP, 2022-2027) is supporting the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania to deliver equitable and inclusive economic growth through investments in human capital, resilient livelihoods and nutritious diets. Key priorities in the CSP include providing policy-level advocacy and technical assistance to national systems on school feeding and nutrition towards improving the nutrition situation using a lifecycle approach and contribute to better learning experience.
In line with the CSP objectives and with funding from the Government of Canada, WFP and the Government of Tanzania are implementing Tanzania School Feeding Project. WFP Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam is seeking to fill an internship position for 8 months to provide gender, protection and inclusion support implementation of the project.
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Policy Officer (Gender, Protection and Youth) and overall supervision of the Head of Nutrition, HIV and School-Based Programmes, the Intern will perform the following duties: ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES::
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:: During the 8-month internship period, the intern is expected to: 1. Prepare a high-level summary of the Gender and Intersectional Analysis for presentation and dissemination to the Country Office Management and Staff.
2. Review and contribute to the finalisation of the Gender and Intersectional Analysis for the Tanzania School Feeding Project.
3. Contribute to the review and contextualisation the Gender Action Plan for the project.
4. Provide gender, protection and inclusion inputs to project or donor reports, briefs, and presentations.
5. Contribute to drafting or updating gender, protection and inclusion-sensitive tools, checklists, or guidance notes adapted to the local context.
6. Contribute to developing knowledge products on gender, protection, and inclusion for the project.
7. Provide monthly activity summaries highlighting tasks completed, key observations, and lessons learned.
