Selected candidates join for an initial six-month placement aimed at building professional skills and gaining practical experience in civic technology and community engagement.

Open Tracks and Available Positions
1. Community Moderation & Platform Stewardship (3 Posts)
  • Steward day-to-day community discussion spaces while upholding guidelines and escalation procedures.

  • Promote safe, inclusive, and constructive dialogue among platform members.

2. Information Verification & Platform Integrity (3 Posts)
  • Monitor digital trends to identify misleading claims in civic conversations.

  • Conduct verification research using open sources and expert data to prepare clear research summaries.

3. Digital Engagement Strategy (2 Posts)
  • Support data-informed engagement roadmaps and campaign calendars.

  • Research community trends across channels and help define tone-of-voice and messaging guidelines.

4. Civic Campaigns & Community Amplification (3 Posts)
  • Draft citizen-centric campaign materials and community education content.

  • Collaborate with strategy and design teams to translate complex governance issues into accessible formats.

5. Visual Communication & Design (1 Post)
  • Design branded digital assets, infographics, and campaign collateral.

  • Translate complex datasets and policy summaries into clear, engaging visual formats.

6. Community & Social Engagement (2 Posts)
  • Manage daily interactions across digital channels (scheduling, posting, and interactive features).

  • Facilitate constructive discourse in comment sections and identify trending civic conversations.

7. Data & Insights (1 Post)
  • Track engagement metrics and analyze emerging community information needs.

  • Help build internal dashboards to inform organizational decision-making.

8. Program & Operations Support (2 Posts)
  • Assist project leads with planning, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate logistics for webinars, campaigns, and community dialogues.

9. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning – MEL (1 Post)
  • Collect performance metrics, qualitative community feedback, and quantitative data.

  • Assist in preparing periodic MEL summaries and learning briefs to refine strategy.

Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Skill Requirements
  • Education: Recent graduate holding a Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Communications, Political Science, Development Studies, Sociology, Statistics, Data Science, Graphic Design, Project Management, ICT, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant practical Experience or project involvement.

  • Languages: Full proficiency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.

  • Interests: Demonstrated passion for online community engagement, civic technology, and social impact.
