  • Support standard cost and bill-of-materials reviews for critical items and consumables.
  • Assist in setting and reviewing consumption norms (e.g., fuel burn rates, tyre life, reagent usage) and monitoring actuals against standards.
  • Provide inventory and consumption data to support budgeting, forecasting and cost reduction initiatives.

Stocktakes, Cycle Counts & Internal Control

  • Monitor slow-moving, obsolete and excess stock; prepare ageing and turnover analyses.
  • Recommend and calculate provisions for obsolete, damaged or non-moving inventory in line with company policy and IFRS.
  • Work with user departments and supply chain to manage write offs, disposals and stock rationalisation programs.

Systems, Processes & Data Integrity

  • Maintain the integrity of inventory master data (item codes, descriptions, units of measure, costing parameters).
  • Support implementation and optimisation of ERP inventory and warehouse management modules.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency and control over inventory transactions.
  • Provide training and guidance to warehouse and end user staff on inventory procedures and documentation requirements.

Compliance, Audit & Reporting

  • Ensure inventory accounting complies with IFRS (particularly IAS 2), Tanzanian regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare inventory schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits; address audit queries and findings.
