Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Administering prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts using radiation therapy equipment, according to established practices and standards.
• Positioning patients for treatment accurately according to prescription.
• Entering data into the computer and setting controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage.
• Following the principles of radiation protection for patients, self, and others.
• Maintaining proper records, reports, and files as required, including information such as:
  • Radiation dosages
  • Equipment settings
  • Patients’ reactions
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

• Holder of a Diploma in Radiotherapy or Radiation Therapy Technology from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered with the Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals.
