SADC Secretariat Recruitment 2026 – Senior Programme Officer – Water (Job Grade 4)

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) continues to play a critical role in advancing regional integration, sustainable development, and economic cooperation across Southern Africa. Through its Secretariat, SADC leads strategic programmes that address key regional challenges, including water resource management, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability. This latest recruitment initiative, coordinated through the President’s Office Public Service Management and Good Governance Tanzania, reflects the organization’s commitment to strengthening technical expertise in high-impact sectors.

This vacancy is particularly significant given the growing importance of trans-boundary water resource management across the SADC region. With climate variability, increasing water demand, and cross-border water systems becoming more complex, the need for experienced professionals in water governance has never been more critical. The recruitment offers one (1) senior-level opportunity, targeting highly qualified Tanzanian professionals capable of contributing to regional water programme coordination and policy implementation.
