Job Description
The Senior Finance Officer oversees financial operations by ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, statutory compliance, and effective internal controls while supporting strategic decision-making

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
  • Lead the Company’s budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis processes to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Tanzanian tax legislation, statutory obligations, and internal financial policies by overseeing accurate financial reporting and timely submission of statutory returns.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously strengthen internal financial controls, accounting procedures, and risk management practices to safeguard the Company’s assets and maintain financial integrity.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing financial records, responding to audit findings, and ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Oversee the Company’s treasury functions, including bank reconciliations, payment processes, payroll financial reviews, and working capital management to ensure effective financial operations.
  • Manage the financial administration of grants, donor-funded projects, and investment funds by ensuring compliance with funding agreements, approved budgets, donor requirements, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports, project budgets, investment analyses, financial forecasts, and due diligence documentation to support fundraising initiatives, grant applications, donor reporting, and investor engagements.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with donors, development partners, investors, financial institutions, auditors, and regulatory authorities while ensuring transparent financial reporting and accountability.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members while providing strategic financial advice to Management and performing any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Executive Officer in support of the Company’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or related field.

  • CPA (T), ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (Added Advantage).

  • Master’s Degree (An Added advantage.)

  • Minimum 3+ years’ relevant experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
