Database Administration

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Manage database security, user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Develop and maintain database scripts, reports, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure high system availability.
• Monitor data integrity and implement data protection controls.
• Support application integration with databases.
• Implement database performance tuning and capacity planning initiatives.

ICT Security Management

• Enforce ICT security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor systems, databases, servers, and networks for security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, endpoint security, and access controls.
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and security breaches.
• Maintain security logs, audit trails, and monitoring systems.
• Support compliance with ICT security policies, data protection requirements, and audit recommendations.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices across the organization.

Systems and Network Administration

• Support and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and ICT systems.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments.
• Assist in software installation, configuration, updates, and patch management.
• Maintain secure remote access and user authentication systems.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities.
• Monitor system performance and recommend infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers on ICT-related support services.

User Support and Training

• Provide technical support related to ICT systems, databases, and information security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ICT incidents within agreed service levels.
• Train users on ICT security awareness and safe technology practices.
• Develop user guides, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
• Prepare periodic ICT operational and security reports for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in ICT systems administration, database management, and information security.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years administering relational database management systems (RDBMS), with hands-on experience in at least two of the following platforms:
  1. Microsoft SQL Server
  2. Oracle Database
  3. PostgreSQL
  4. MySQL
• Experience in managing ICT infrastructure, network security, and system administration.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve database and ICT-related technical issues in a production environment.

Professional Certifications (Added Advantage)

• Relevant cybersecurity, database administration, network and systems administration certifications.

Working Conditions

• May require standby support for critical ICT incidents and disaster recovery activities.
