Job description
The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of comprehensive brand plan strategies that are supported and co-created with both business and non-business units. The role ensures alignment with the Bank’s brand strategy, marketing policies, and procedures while leveraging market insights and trends to drive business growth.
The position also involves leading the commercialization of new products and services, managing product launches, pricing strategies, promotional activities, marketing performance evaluation, and brand consistency across the Bank.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the execution of comprehensive brand plan strategies supported and co-created with business and non-business units.
- Ensure alignment with the Bank’s brand strategy, marketing policies, and procedures.
- Leverage market insights and trends to drive business growth.
- Lead the commercialization of new products and services.
- Oversee product launches, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize sales and market penetration.
- Work with product owners to develop appropriate and responsive systems and tools to market the Bank’s products and services within business functions.
- Ensure appropriate application of brand usage guidelines and marketing policies in the marketing of the Bank’s products and services.
- Ensure consistency in the marketing of products and services across the Bank while addressing local uniqueness.
- Provide expert support in developing effective marketing strategies for relevant business and non-business functions of the Bank.
- Use data-driven insights and metrics to evaluate marketing performance.
- Identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies for maximum return on investment.
- Develop appropriate metrics and dashboards to measure the impact of marketing activities on the bottom line.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including agencies supporting the relevant area.
- Challenge agencies to ensure the best possible brand output through innovative media plans and creative materials.
- Ensure creative materials demonstrate a clear understanding of brand values, consumer motivation, and the competitive context.
- Manage the marketing budget effectively.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to the marketing team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on achieving results.
Daily responsibilities
- Manage all marketing activities, advertising, and promotional activities.
- Effectively manage promotional materials and their distribution.
- Manage and enhance the corporate brand through effective advertising mediums, including:
- Digital media
- Radio
- Billboards
- Mail shots
- Branding
- Other relevant advertising channels
- Clearly articulate product positioning, messaging, collateral, promotion goals, and strategies.
- Work with design houses, printers, and agencies to ensure all developed communication adheres to the set brand guidelines.
- Manage the marketing budget and provide tracking reports on marketing expenditure.
- Reconcile marketing expenditure with finance on all payments and procurement matters.
- Ensure local purchase orders are issued where required.
Minimum position qualification requirements
Academic and professional qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing is required.
Professional qualifications
- Marketing certification, such as CIM or any other related certificate, is an added advantage.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration is an added advantage.
Experience requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in the following areas:
- Marketing: minimum of 4 years, essential.
- Brand management: minimum of 4 years, essential.
- Marketing campaigns: minimum of 4 years, essential.
- Market research and analytics: minimum of 4 years, essential.
- Digital marketing: minimum of 3 years, essential.
- Budget management: minimum of 3 years, essential.
- Marketing communication: minimum of 3 years, essential.
- Sustainability plan: minimum of 1 year, desirable but not essential.
