Job Purpose

To lead and manage high-value corporate and governmental accounts, craft strategic market-entry and expansion plans, and ensure Elsewedy Electric is the partner of choice for major regional projects within the Industrial, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Infrastructure sectors. The role aims to drive revenue growth, develop long-term customer partnerships, and ensure the successful execution of sales strategies to achieve organizational objectives. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Financial Management

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with top management to draft, refine, and finalize the yearly sales budget, setting realistic yet ambitious revenue and growth targets.

  • Market Strategy: Design and execute comprehensive commercial strategies for the assigned sectors, identifying emerging project pipelines early.

  • Margin Commitment: Own the commercial bottom line, consistently delivering on agreed-upon sales volumes and protecting profit margins through strategic pricing and negotiation.

2. Large Account & Relationship Management

  • Key Account Growth: Build, maintain, and leverage robust relationships with key decision-makers, including EPC contractors, mining executives, oil and gas developers, and public infrastructure authorities.

  • Value Selling: Position Elsewedy’s premium LV cables, conductors, and distribution transformers as the technically and economically superior choice for complex projects.

3. Tenders, Bids, & Technical Operations

  • Bid Preparation: Lead the preparation, structuring, and submission of high-value commercial bids and public/private tenders. 

    Management
  • Technical Submittals: Coordinate closely with engineering and factory teams to prepare precise technical submittals, ensuring product specifications align perfectly with client and project requirements.

4. Commercial Law & Compliance

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all commercial contracts, bid terms, and local partnerships comply strictly with Tanzanian commercial law and regional regulations.

  • Risk Management: Navigate complex contractual clauses to mitigate commercial and operational risks for the company during negotiations.

5. Revenue Generation & Sales Performance

  • Revenue Growth: Drive the achievement of sales revenue, profitability, and market share targets through effective sales planning and customer engagement strategies.

  • Pipeline Management: Manage the sales pipeline by identifying, tracking, and progressing opportunities; maintain accurate sales forecasts and prioritize activities to maximize conversion rates.

6. Customer Relationship Management

  • Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders to support business growth.

  • Service Coordination: Collaborate with technical, operations, and service teams to ensure customer requirements are met effectively and efficiently.

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum Experience: 7 years of B2B sales and large account management experience (10 years preferred). 

    StrategicPlanning
  • Industry Experience: Proven sales experience in the cable manufacturing industry is mandatory, with a demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Sector Expertise: Strong, pre-existing network and experience dealing with decision-makers in the Mining, Oil & Gas, heavy Industry, and Infrastructure/Utility sectors in East Africa.

Education & Certifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Professional Certificates: Certified Engineer from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Multinational Cultural Fluency: Proven adaptability, corporate professionalism, and clear communication across diverse global teams.

  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of technical specifications, applications, and manufacturing standards of Low Voltage (LV) Copper/Aluminum cables, conductors, and Distribution Transformers.

  • Legal & Commercial Acumen: Sound understanding of Tanzanian commercial law, procurement procedures, and contract negotiation dynamics.

  • Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
