To act as the primary commercial and strategic interface between Elsewedy Electric and Tanzania’s public power sector ecosystem. The candidate will not only maintain relationships with state-owned enterprises but will also own the strategic roadmap to capture market share through private and public EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors who secure utility projects.
Pipeline Mapping: Actively track upcoming TANESCO, REA, and ZECO project approvals, funding allocations (e.g., World Bank, AfDB), and bidding stages. Deploy proactive sales strategies before contracts are formally awarded to EPCs.
Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and product development within the East African utility sector to continuously refine Elsewedy’s strategic positioning.
Strategic Roadmapping: Formulate and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to penetrate the utility contractor market. Identify, segment, and prioritize key domestic and international EPC contractors operating in Tanzania.
Budget Ownership: Take full accountability for achieving annual sales volume, revenue targets, and profit margins allocated to the utility and contractor segment.
Contractor Conversion: Negotiate and close high-volume sales agreements with winning contractors of TANESCO and REA tenders. Secure Elsewedy Electric as the exclusive supplier for LV cables, conductors, and distribution transformers.
Supply Agreement Management: Manage delivery schedules, credit terms, and commercial fulfillment for contractors to ensure zero delays in project execution.
Public Sector Alignment: Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key decision-makers, technical committees, and procurement officers within TANESCO, REA, and ZECO.
Prequalification Leadership: Ensure Elsewedy’s portfolio of cables, conductors, and transformers remains fully approved and pre-qualified on the official vendor registration lists of TANESCO and REA.
Technical Bid Support: Collaborate with factory engineers and commercial teams to prepare competitive bids and technical submittals for utility tenders.
Contractor Tender Support: Provide winning EPC contractors with technical documentation, type-test certificates, and competitive commercial quotes to help them win bids.
Revenue Growth: Drive sales revenue, profitability, and market share targets through effective sales planning and customer engagement strategies.
Opportunity Tracking: Manage the sales pipeline by tracking and progressing opportunities, maintaining accurate forecasts, and prioritizing sales activities.

Minimum Experience: 5 years of B2B/B2G sales experience (8 years preferred).
Industry Experience: Proven sales experience in the cable manufacturing industry is mandatory, with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding targets through EPC and utility contractors in East Africa.
Network: Existing, active relationships with key personnel inside TANESCO, REA, and ZECO, plus an active network of infrastructure and electrical contractors in Tanzania.
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Certification: Certified Engineer from the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English.
Strategic Thinking: Proven capability in executing and adjusting commercial strategies for multi-stakeholder markets.
Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of profit margins, credit risk management, and structured supply contracts.
Public Procurement Fluency: Knowledge of Tanzanian public procurement processes, PPRA regulations, and public projects.
Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of low-voltage (LV) Copper/Aluminum cables, overhead conductors (ACSR, AAAC), and Distribution Transformers.
