Position: Contract Superintendent (1 position)

Reports to: Regional Supply Chain Manager

The Contract Superintendent is responsible for managing and administering contracts that support mining operations and projects in Tanzania. The position focuses on managing high-value goods contracts across mining, processing, maintenance, construction, logistics, and operational support, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian regulations and company governance standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement contracting strategies aligned with operational and project requirements.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFQs, RFPs, and tender evaluations.
  • Conduct commercial evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Manage contract variations with company procurement policies and delegation of authority.
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian mining regulations and local content requirements.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across operations, finance, legal, engineering, and logistics teams.

Qualification/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in contracts, procurement, or commercial roles within mining or heavy industry.
  • Professional certification (CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

Position: Contract Compliance Supervisor (1 position)

Reports to: Contract Superintendent

The Supply Chain Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all procurement, goods contracting, and logistics activities are conducted in full compliance with company governance standards and Tanzanian regulatory requirements, including Tanzania Mining Commission (TMC) and local content obligations.

The role provides structured compliance oversight across the supply chain function to mitigate commercial, regulatory, and audit risks while maintaining governance integrity and transparency.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular compliance reviews of procurement, goods contracts, and logistics activities.
  • Verify that Purchase Orders exceeding USD 100,000 are supported by valid approved contracts.
  • Monitor contract utilisation to ensure approved values and contract periods are not exceeded.
  • Ensure contract variations or amendments requiring TMC approval are submitted on time.
  • Ensure procurement documentation complies with delegation of authority and governance standards.
  • Track local supplier participation and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Provide oversight of logistics compliance, importation processes, and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to supply chain personnel on procurement standards and compliance requirements.

Qualification/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in procurement, contracts, compliance, or supply chain governance within mining or heavy industry.
  • Professional certification (CIPS, Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management) is an added advantage.

Position: Contract Supervisor – Mining Goods (1 position)

Reports to: Contract Superintendent

The Contract Supervisor is responsible for administering and supporting contracts for the supply of materials, equipment, and operational goods within the mining operation in Tanzania. The role ensures procurement activities are compliant, commercially sound, and operationally efficient aligned with company governance standards while maintaining supply continuity.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure contracts are executed in line with agreed commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Support sourcing processes including RFQs, tenders, and supplier evaluations.
  • Assist with commercial analysis and supplier negotiations under the guidance of the Superintendent.
  • Monitor supplier performance against delivery timelines, quality standards, and contractual commitments.
  • Support management of contract variations, claims, and non-conformance matters.
  • Support compliance with Tanzanian mining regulations and local content requirements.
  • Promote utilisation and development of local suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, delegation of authority, and audit requirements.
  • Identify and escalate commercial or supply risks appropriately.

Qualification/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in procurement or contracts administration within mining, construction, or heavy industry.
  • Professional certification (CIPS or equivalent) is an added advantage.
