CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO UNDERTAKE ECONOMIC PROFILE OF TUNA AND TUNA LIKE FISHERIES RESOURCES IN TANZANIA MARINE WATERS

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a Credit from the Global Environmental Facilities (GEF) towards the cost of South West Indian Ocean Fisheries Governance and Shared Growth program SWlOFish and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services.
The consultancy service is to carry out a research on ‘Economic Profile of Tuna and Tuna like Fisheries Resources in the Tanzanian Marine Waters. Main objective is to determine economic profile of tuna and tuna-like fishery and investigate the challenges impeding its contribution to the economic growth of Tanzania. The assignment is expected to be completed within six (6) months after signing of a contract, include final reporting.
The PI should be an experienced and knowledgeable Fisheries /Resources Economist with at least a master’s degree and 10 year’s professional experience related to this work. Supported by Fisheries Biology, the team must include Tanzanian experts, fluent in both written and spoken English;
The Deep Sea Fishing Authority (DSFA) invites eligible consultants firms or Research institutions to express their interest in providing the above mentioned services. Interested Consultants should provide information I demonstrating that they have required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short it listing criteria shall include but not limited to i) Core business of the firm ii) Experience in similar assignment in the field of Fisheries Economics iii) Experience of having worked in South West Indian Ocean region iv) Technical and managerial capability of the firm (Provide only the structure and registration of the organization, general qualifications and number of key staff. Do not provide CV’S of staff since key experts will not be evaluated at the short listing stage).
A consultant firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers; January 201 1 revised 2017 using procurement method Consultants Qualification Selection -CQS).
