EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MAGANGA MATITU IRON ORE PROJECT
1. INTRODUCTION
The National Development Corporation was established as a statutory body an Act in 1992 wholly owned by the government of the united republic of Tanzania charged with responsibility of promoting economic development in Tanzania in Partnership with private sector
The NDC is mandated by the government of Tanzania to develop project in the Mtwara Development corridor. Liganga Iron Ore ( liganga Concession) project located at Ludewa District in Njombe Region is among anchor project in the Mtwara development corridor. Maganga Matitu is one of the five hills of material to steel industries. The Magnga Matitu Iron are one project has area of 19.63 sq. km for the development and implementation of iron mine beatification plat and the associated infrastructure, further the government directed NDC to produce an investor who will partner with the corporation and implementation of the Maganga Matitu Iron Ore Project
2. OBJECTIVE
The main objective is to secure experienced and competent investor who will partner with NDC in the development and implementation of the Maganga Matitu Iron Project. The investor or firms is free to form joint venture/consortia to express the interest
3. PROPOSED PROJECT
The NDC intends to pre-qualify experienced and competent investor and /or firms to act as t co-sponsors and shareholders alongside the NDC in promoting a joint venture company will have the right to develop the project. This will likely involve
- Exploration and identification of the quantity and quality of the iron ore deposit at Maganga Matitu including evaluation of the mineralogy and metallurgical response to any separation techniques to be employed with a view to the subsequent commercial development of an iron ore mine and beatification plant and
- The development of an efficient method for exploiting the deposition having in mind the infrastructural needs of the region including the Mtwara development corridor and the aim of providing through any processing or industry the maximum of value added within Tanzania
4. INTERESTED INVESTORS
The NDC now seeks eligible investors to submit their application for pre-qualification for the above mentioned project. The evaluation criteria will take into consideration technical managerial and financial capability as well as experienced and past performance of similar business of the prospective investors/firms
5. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST DOCUMENT
Expression of interest must be made by way of submission of a completed set of pre-qualification documents in English. Complete applications for pre-qualifications must be submitted in 5 hard copies (one original plus 4 copies including electronic copy on CD in sealed envelopes and delivered to the address below)
6. SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The submission of the interest must be submitted/delivered to the address below on before 1st April 2020 at 14:00 6th Floor Room No 605 Clearly marked TENDER NO PA/068/NDC/2019/2020/INV/01 FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MAGANGA MATITU IRON ORE PROJECT
7. Late submission of expression of interest shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances
8. The corporation has the right to reject all bids and shall incur no any liability
