Job Position: High-lead Urus Operator

Purpose of the position:
The Urus Operator will be responsible for extracting timbers as directed by site supervisor.
Key Result Areas and accountabilities:
- Planning of the day’s activities with the Supervisor to ensure efficient use of the high lead Urus.
- Compliance with health & safety requirements
- Keeping the high-lead Urus machine clean and in a safe & good working order
- Liaising with the workshop to ensure all routine and emergency maintenance is done timely
- Liaising with the Supervisor and other harvesting staff to ensure activities are synchronised
- Keeping a logbook and usage records on the Urus machine.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:
- Relevant drivers’ license
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Ability to complete the logbook daily.
- Excellent eyesight and hearing
- Proven analytical ability to assess the most effective way to execute a task.
- Basic knowledge of heavy-duty machine mechanical layout and service requirements
