Course Description

Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) has always been a crucial element in banking sector and continued to put pressure on recycling of funds. Therefore, impairing the ability of bank’s lending capacity as a result decreases interest income. Various measures and efforts have been taken by banks and regulators to limit the NPLs. However, various business environments have continued to aggravate NPLs. Thus, this course is designed to discuss various debt recovery structures, techniques and options available to manage and recover NPLs.

Course Objectives

The overall objective of the course is to enable participants to recover the funds locked in NPLs. Besides the overall objective, there are two specific objectives, these are;

  1. To equip participants with different approaches to NPLs management and recovery structures; and
  2. To equip participants with alternative NPLs recovery strategies and techniques.

Course Outcomes:

At the end of this training participants will be able to:

  • Understanding the impact of NPLs on Banks
  • Collect and recover funds relating to NPLs.
  • Perceive alternative approaches to NPLs management and recovery structures
  • Apply different NPLs recovery strategies/techniques
  • Understand accounting treatment of NPLs and loan loss provisioning
  • Understand IFRS 9 accounting standard for NPL management

Interactive sessions, group discussions and case studies.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with Certificates.

Course Venue and Date:

The course will be conducted at the Magadu Officers Club, Morogoro, from 21st to 24th February 2022, Time 09:00 am to 03:30 pm.

Target Group:

Loan recovery officers, credit managers, relationship managers, compliance officers, debt collectors.

Training Fee:

The fee for participant is TZS 1000,000/= to cover tuition fee, course material, and lunch and light refreshments during breaks.
