VACANCY – HEALTH FACILITY INTERVIEWERS– MOMCARE PROJECT
Our client the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) is an African-led and Africa based international research institute committed to conducting high quality and policy relevant multidisciplinary research. Their research addresses important development issues and challenges facing sub-Saharan Africa in areas such as education, population, health, aging, urbanization and wellbeing. The APHRC is seeking to fill the position of Health Facility Interviewers in its MomCare Evaluation project where the candidates will be based in Tanzania. The study will be conducted in Manyara and Kilimanjaro regions.
We are looking for an individual who is suitably qualified and competent with experience as a Health Facility Interviewer.
THE JOB
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in an intensive training in unobtrusive clinical observation techniques, and in the use of all data forms required for the study.
- Monitor activities in the three Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) service points while recording their observations.
- Independently observe women throughout the different service points.
- Complete structured data forms and qualitative interviews with the health care workers on duty.
- Will be as unobtrusive as possible in observation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a Diploma with 2 years’ experience in Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) service provision in a health facility setting.
- Experienced Nurses/Midwives.
- Experience in conducting observation interviews is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data/information with attention to detail and accuracy.
