Job Summary:
The Depot Accountant/Depot Controller, reporting to Senior Senior Depot Controller / Finance Manager, will work closely with the Depot Head, managing the financial aspects and operational formalities of running a depot. The job holder contributes into the efficient and compliant operation of the depot's financial activities and processes.

Responsibilities:

• (Work independently to oversee the financial and administrative operations of the cigarette depot while coordinating closely with the Branch In-Charge (BI).)
• Manage cash and Bank handling, including daily reconciliation of cash collections, deposits, and petty cash expenses.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and inventory movement.
• Prepare and submit financial reports, including daily sales summaries, inventory levels, and expenses, to the Depot Head and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and maintain transparency.
• Collaborate with the sales team to reconcile sales records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate invoicing and payment processing.
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns related to billing, payments, and financial transactions, providing timely and accurate responses.
• Assist in preparing and submitting operational documents, such as delivery schedules, purchase orders, and sales reports.
• Support the Senior Depot Controller / Depot Head in maintaining effective communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial and operational procedures.
• Perform all other duties as and when assigned by the management.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance .
• 2-4 years of proven experience in finance, accounting, Storekeeping , ideally within the tobacco manufacturing or distribution industry/FMCG.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately handle financial data and perform reconciliations.
• Proficiency in using financial software Tally Prime ERP , Excel spreadsheets, and databases to manage and analyze financial information.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, customers, and suppliers.
• Familiarity with financial controls, regulations, and compliance standards applicable to the industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under the supervision of the Senior Depot Controller.
• Problem-solving mindset and the ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and operational challenges.
• Strong ethical values and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial matters.
• Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to quickly adapt to new software tools.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
