Our Approach to Safeguarding

Restless Development considers the welfare and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults to be an organisational imperative with primacy over the success of programmes or strategic objectives. We recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we expect all of our staff, volunteers and partners to ensure we protect the communities in which we operate from harm and abide by our Safeguarding Policy.

About the Role

The AU-EU Youth Voices Lab Programme- also known as Power of the Collective is a four- year (March 2024 – Feb 2028) initiative implemented by four partners with a virtual reach across the African continent and physical presence in 15 countries; that is, 14 in Africa and one in Europe. The programme works with largely young people with the overall goal of creating a more youth-responsive and inclusive society. To realise this goal, two interlinked objectives will be implemented;

  1. The youth journey- where young people and youth-led groups and networks effectively advocate their concerns and priorities at various levels, including local, national, continental and cross-continental, and around the AU-EU partnership in Africa
  2. The enablers/institutional journey – where Institutions, governments, partners, and corporations are more youth centred and meaningfully collaborate with youth in the development and implementation of their policies/decision-making moments and spaces.

The programme aims to reach 240,000 young people aged 15 -35 years and 8,000 youth groups.

The Project Intern will provide bilingual (English/French) coordination and communication support to facilitate interaction between the programme team and the Youth Advisory Body (YAB). The intern will play a key role in ensuring timely communication, documentation, and follow-up on youth-led activities and events.
