About the Function

Role purpose:

Lead in execution of assigned projects from justification to handover including scoping, budgeting and budget control, project cash planning, technical specifications for tendering purpose, tender evaluation, contracting support from technical perspective, Project Execution and governance, program management and validation process for quality assurance

Accountabilities:

  • Support in formulation of strategic capital development objectives and plans including three-year plans and Capex AOP in line with the overall company objectives.
  • Implement projects within applicable company processes from project design and costing, justification for approval to, specifications for tendering by procurement department, technical evaluation of the tenders and eventual supervision of contractors and consultants during the relevant stages in the life of the project.
  • Contract management for assigned capex projects.
  • Apply governance tools during the project life cycle – Capex validation, 6 pillar standards for project management, internationally recognized engineering standards including but not limited – BS standards, HSE Building Codes, NFPA, ATEX requirements for zoned areas like dusty and highly flammable atmospheres etc
  • Cash flow planning, management and reporting for the projects under jurisdiction.
  • Lead on compliance to safety/Health/environment & all other Diageo policies within the project under jurisdiction.
  • Ensuring quality and food safety requirement are through embedding quality and food safety culture in Ways of working.
  • Implement controls in line with Food safety, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Management Systems according to FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements respectively.

Qualification & Experience: ·

  • BSc. Engineering -Electrical/Mechanical or Mechatronics.
  • Post graduate qualifications in Engineering or Business Studies (MSc or MBA) would be an added advantage.
  • Registered Professional Engineer by Engineers Board is desirable
  • At least 8 years as a design engineer or maintenance engineer or a combination of these in FMCG
  • Good grasp and understanding of the FMCG processes – utilities, food processing, brewing, spirits blending, packaging and barley malting
