PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To undertake expression of Interest (EOI) evaluations by providing technical, analytical, administration and coordination of prequalification of vendors who express interest of doing business with Geita Gold Mining Limited in line with the Local Content Regulation of 2018.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma / Higher Diploma in Procurement & Supply Chain Management.
- Must be Registered with PSPTB.
EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years’ working experience in the mining sector preferably in Supply Chain / Procurement department.
- Experience with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, preferably SAP system.
- Dynamic knowledge and understanding of supply chain, effective ability to recognize opportunities and suggest ideas, achieve cost savings, and streamline current processes to increase internal productivity.
- Understand business objectives to generate project information, action items, schedule, and deliverables for the team.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Review requisitions from end users including evaluation criteria before issuing Expression of interest (EOI) to the public, which involves developing clear and objective evaluation criteria to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
- Management of Expression of Interest from preparing and publishing EOI advertisements in relevant newspapers, notifying other relevant authorities, and overseeing the entire evaluation process to ensure compliance with established criteria and regulations.
- To conduct comprehensive due diligence to assess the credibility, capability, and reliability of selected vendors. This includes background checks, financial assessments, and verification of references.
- Interpret Vendor Financial Statements: This involves analyzing and interpreting financial statements to assess the financial health and stability of vendors, identifying any potential financial risks.
- To maintain Files of Complete Expression of Interest: Ensuring all EOI documents are accurately filed, organized, and easily accessible for future reference. This includes maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date record of all EOIs.
- To verify submitted company documents including Industry-specific requirements (e.g., CRB, ERB, TMDA, ICMI and dealership letters): This responsibility involves verifying the authenticity and validity of all submitted documents, ensuring compliance with industry-specific requirements and standards.
- To verify vendors’ compliance with Local Content Regulations to promote local participation and development.
- Developing and presenting regular reports on key performance areas, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all documents and correspondence, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access.
- Demonstrate a sound Knowledge of Interpreting and Applying Procurement Policies and Operational Guidelines: Applying procurement policies and operational guidelines accurately and consistently to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively, working independently to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Verify and validate Vendors statements of past experiences.
- Prioritize conflicting demands, perform duties with minimum supervision and meet required deadlines.
- Analyze and resolve problems, develop new processes and procedures in response to changing working environment.
- Being adaptable, flexible, and willing to take on additional duties as required.

- Must be a strong negotiator.
