Open Temporary Position: Entrepreneurship Trainer – Personal Initiative Method
Entrepreneurship Trainer – Personal Initiative Method
Background:
The SAfA Tanzania Project aims to support over 50,000 young men and women aged 15–30 in Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, and Songwe who are currently facing uncertain futures. The project seeks to improve their life prospects through better access to education, income opportunities, and health services, while fostering a more youth-friendly and inclusive environment. This is achieved through a multisectoral approach implemented by three partners: Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW) Tanzania, Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (HRNS) Tanzania, and Kühne Foundation (KF) Tanzania. Together, they bring complementary expertise to promote skills development for gainful employment, enhance agricultural practices, optimize health supply chains, and improve reproductive health education with a focus on gender responsiveness. They also work to increase the uptake of youth-friendly health services.The project’s integrated and holistic model is expected to generate significant, sustainable impact, which will be closely monitored through rigorous evaluation. Lessons learned will support ongoing local capacity building and inform future scaling and replication in Tanzania and beyond.

- Handle various administrative tasks (e.g., recording of participant attendance, logistical coordination with trainees and other trainers, etc., surveys?);
- Conduct follow-up supervision meetings with training groups in the weeks following training.
Duration: Predominantly June through August – with six weeks of full-time work and part-time meetings and supplemental sessions for two to three weeks – also in September/October.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – confident facilitator or presenter;

- Flexible, resourceful, and self-directed with a strong sense of accountability;
- Preferred but not required:
- Prior experience with training delivery, group facilitation, or adult learning;

Payment & other benefits: 2,500,000 Tanzanian shilling for the full “package” of deliverables – with prorated fees if not all deliverables are provided; certification in the Personal Initiative training methodology which has been used by major international organizations including the World Bank.
Application: Interested applicants are invited to submit their CV and a cover letter briefly explaining their qualifications and availability for the position. Applications should be sent to [email protected] no later than 22 May 2025.
