Chama cha Uzazi na Malezi Bora Tanzania (UMATI) established in 1959, is an autonomous voluntary National NGO originally incorporated under CAP 337 in 1973, established under the non-governmental organization Act No 24 of 2002 in 2019 with registration number 00NGO/R2/000231. UMATI is a full Member Association (MA) of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) accredited in since 2015.
UMATI works in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, and Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) with the goal of providing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education, information, and services in Tanzania. The association has a long leadership history in SRH Programs in Tanzania including pioneering in Family Planning (FP) services, SRHR programs for young people, integrated Clinics, and Community-based service delivery approaches.
UMATI wishes to recruit a qualified and experienced candidate to fill in the following vacant positions;
1. Job title: Call Centre Agents (2)
Reporting to: National Youth Coordinator
Location: Dar es salaam
Job Purpose:
Working closely with the IT Officer and National Youth Coordinator, the Call Centre Agents will have primary responsibility for operating the call centre by receiving and responding to inquiries regarding the issues they face, and services they demand that are related to Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender-based violence, and the like. This position is volunteer-based and the organization will offer a subsistence allowance to candidates with the spirit of volunteerism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from clients
- Management and resolve client’s complaints
- Provide sexual reproductive health counselling and information to clients.
- Identify and escalate issues to supervisors or services providers
- Research, identify, and resolve client’s complaints using applicable software
- Route calls to appropriate resources
- Document all call information according to standard operating procedures
- Recognize, document, and alert the management team of trends in customer calls
- Preparation and sharing of the Daily reports from the CRM software.
- Follow up clients calls where necessary
Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma Level in public health (nursing, clinical management, etc.), Gender, community development, social studies, etc.
- At least one (1) year of experience
- Must be a resident of Temeke, Dar es Salaam
- Experience in Telesales is an added advantage

2. Job title: Pharmaceutical Technician (2)
Reporting to: Clinic In charge
Location: Songea and Mbinga
Job Purpose:
Responsible for receiving the prescription and checking their validity and dispense the medications according to the prescription, advising patients on the correct administration and dosages of these medications and side effects that may arise incase of irrational use of medicines, to interact and communicate with doctors and other medical professionals incase of any update related to medicines and medical supplies, to record all medication/patient transactions in the software and to keep and maintain the stock of medicines and medical supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The pharmaceutical technician/assistant will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- To identify all medicines and medical equipment’s needed by the facility and identify the budget needed yearly.
- Ordering, maintaining stock and distributing medicines and medical supplies at your working facility.
- To keep and maintain medicine and medical supplies record at your facility.
- To prepare hospital formulary to be used in your working facility.
- To supervise clients and co-workers on the proper use medicines and medical equipment’s.
- Receive all medication ordered by your facility, review the order, and making sure that there is no any expired medicine
- Compounding medicines for the use of facility when the need arise.
- To educate clients on the side effects that may arise due to irrational use of medicines.
- Acting as secretary of the hospital therapeutic committee at you working facility.
- To dispense medicines to clients as prescribed by the physician.
- To educate the society and co workers on the proper use of medications.
- To perform stock taking each month and report to your supervisors.
- Making sure that there is no unnecessary shortage of stock at your facility.
- To supervise the implementation of medicines national policy at your facility.
- To perform other activities as directed by the physician in charge and other members of the administration.
Qualification
- Holders of ordinary diploma in pharmaceutical sciences.
- Enrolled by the pharmacy council.
- Proficiency in computer science will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of working experience in the field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Being able to communicate properly with the patients and co workers
- Having basic knowledge on the use of computer programs especially Microsoft excel and Microsoft word
Having enough knowledge on medicines and medical supplies so as to be able to assist other health staff and clients
3. Job title: Lab Technicians (2)
Reporting to: Clinic In charge
Location: Songea and Mbinga
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving, labeling and analyzing samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)
- Collects, processes, and handles blood and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures; instructs patients in the proper collection of samples.
- Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.
- Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient’s finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
- Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens, using advanced laboratory techniques.
- Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
- Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
- Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
- Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Examine body fluids and tissues and analyse body fluids, such as blood, urine, and tissue samples for abnormal chemical levels, cells or bacteria.
- Operate laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and automated cell counters.
- Use automated equipment that analyses multiple samples at the same time.
- Organize and store all laboratory reagents according to safety instructions
- Record and manage all data
- Prepare reports based on findings
- Compile daily, monthly and annual report
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in laboratory science
- Demonstrate skills in information systems and advanced Microsoft office application
- Experience in logistics/supply chain management of public Health commodities is desirable

4. Job title: Registered Nurse
Reporting to: Clinic In charge
Location: Temeke
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary
- Adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance when need arise.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

- Provide RCH services includes, family planning, Antenatal care services including PMTCT, Post natal check ups, Immunization, Cervical cancer screening.

Qualification
- Diploma in nursing from recognized health institution
- Demonstrate skills in information systems and advanced Microsoft office application

Responsibilities
- Plan clinic activities pertaining to SRH maternal and child health
- To comply and deliver relevant service statistic reports on implemented activities at the clinic to the Clinic in charge
- Coordination of medical related training activities with other agencies, facilities and institutions in the area to ensure the staff are developed appropriately in their professions
- To provide Sexual and Reproductive Health Services to clients and counsel clients on appropriate methods
- To assist in minor surgery and to prepare facilities for other clinical services
- To provide VCT Services activities and clinic services
- To supervise Home based care services in the community
- Conducting training of SRH and HBC, VCT services
- Attending to any other duty as may from time to time be assigned by his superiors
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge in SRH services
- Empathetic personality, self-confidence, confidentiality, tolerance of non-scheduled work hours
