PROVISION OF CONSULTANCY SERVICES – REVIEW OF EXISTING
BIODIVERSITY DATABASES TO DETERMINE MODEL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A FRESHWATER BIODIVERSITY DATABASE

- The Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA)has received a grant from JRS in The United States of America (USA)towards the cost of Implementing a Freshwater Biodiversity Information System, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to cover eligible payments under the contract for provision of consultancy services – review of the existing biodiversity databases to determine model for development of a freshwater biodiversity database..
- The Sokoine University of Agriculture now invites eligible consulting firms or individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services below within three (3) months
- Surveying and analyzing existing biodiversity databases in Tanzania to determine their suitability in storing freshwater biodiversity data..
- Surveying suitable databases in and outside of Tanzania that can be adopted in developing a freshwater biodiversity database.
- Surveying and recommending suitable software that can be used in developing a freshwater biodiversity database.
- Developing a database prototype or reinforcing a suitable existing database for the purpose of storing freshwater biodiversity data.
- Making an online review and recommending a suitable Decision Support Tool that can be adopted as a replica in developing a freshwater biodiversity Decision Support Tool.
- Interested consulting firms or individual consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services by submitting consultant’s profile, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. ,
- Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Public Procurement Act No.7 of 2011 and the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013-Government Notice No.446 (hereinafter called Procurement Regulations),
- Selection will be conducted through the Consultants Qualification selection procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations. Interested eligible consultants may obtain further information from the office the Head of Procurement Management Unit, Sokoine University of Agriculture, P.O. Box 3000 Morogoro from 08:00 am. to 03:30p.m. on Monday to Friday inclusive except on public holidays.
- Expressions of Interest (Eol) must be delivered to the address below: The Secretary of SUA Tender Board, P.O.Box 3000 Morogoro at or before 02:00p.m., Thursday, 30th January, 2020.
- Late Expressions of Interest shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
