REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO INVEST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN AREA LOCATED ALONG BANDAR! ROAD, AT KURASINI, (EX-BIT /BIASHARA CLUB) IN DAR ES SALAAM TANZANIA
- Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) is a statutory organ operating under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. TanTrade was established by the Act No. 4 of 2009 following a repeal of the Acts of Parliament No. 15 of 1973 and No. 5 of 1978 that established the Board of Internal Trade (BIT) and the Board of External Trade (BET) respectively.
- TanTrade is vested with regulatory, executive, advisory and consultative power of developing and promoting trade in Tanzania. Thus, its activities are designed to promote a strong domestic trading culture and linkage to foreign trade, with a mission to enhance Tanzania’s economic performance through trade development and promotion of goods and services for both local and foreign markets.
- TanTrade has acquired a number of properties/areas from the then BIT and BET including Residential as well as Business places located in Dar es Salaam city and other places in the country. As such it has decided to team up with a competent strategic Investor cum Developer to develop its area located along Bandari Road, Kurasini, (ex-BIT/Biashara Club) with total area of 3,332 square Metre as part of implementation of its trade development and promotion strategies.
- The area is located at Kurasini Ward, Temeke District in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and is situated about 1.5 km from the Port and 10km from Julius Nyerere International Airport and about 2.5km from City centre. The location has been strategically selected in close proximity of Dar es Salaam to become a hub and gateway for international trade to serve the hinterland neighbouring countries. The area can readily be reached from both Kilwa road and the Port Access Nelson Mandela road. It is surrounded by a number of ICD’s and Logistics companies.
- TanTrade hereby invites eligible Local and International Entrepreneurs/ Sole Proprietorships/ Technology Services Providers/ Companies etc or Consortia (All herein referred to as Applicants) to submit their expression of interest for pre-qualifying to invest in the proposed area in the projects such as;
- -Centre for commodities and other crops sorting, cleaning, grading and trading for export markets;
- -establishment of cooling, Cold Rooms or Pack house for exportable fresh and perishable products;
- -establishment of Modern Business Logistics and Warehousing facilities for storage of exported goods; or
- -Any other Project that will fulfill the objective of trade development and promotion strategy in relation to satisfactory project as well as environmental assessments.
6. Interested Applicants must provide information indicating their interest and capacity to partner with the Authority to invest on the said area by submitting the following:
-Company profile including all subsidiary or associated companies, and indicating principle place of business;
-Certified copy of certificate of incorporation/registration;
-Certified copies of tax compliance and tax clearance from the country of principle. place of business, together with VAT Certificate of Registration;
-Evidence of experience in executing similar projects, describing projects undertaken in the last five years (Completed and on-going, if any);
-Evidence of resources (human, operational technical and financial) capabilities;
-Information regarding any litigation, current or within the last five years, parties involved, nature of dispute and dispute amount;
-Financial capacity, including latest Audited Financial statement(s) for at least three years;
-Letters of Reference from two (2) Banks; one of which must be a First Class Bank or Development Bank;
- Mode of developing the proposed project will be Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) under a Concession Agreement.
- All compliant Expression-of-Interest submissions will be evaluated and pre-qualified Investor will be issued with Letters of Invitation to submit their Request-for-Proposal (”RFP’) for investment and execution of the proposed project.
- Expressions of Interest (EoI) in writing, one in original plus one copy, precisely sealed and clearly marked “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO DEVELOP AN AREA LOCATED ALONG BAN DARI ROAD, KURASINI, (EX-BIT /BIASHARA CLUB) “must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00am local time on Monday 4th of April 2021.
