Assignment Title:
- The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (SRWS) Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
- The consulting services (“the Services”) include Design and Supervision of Construction of Vertical Extension of Buildings Containing Classrooms, Lecture Theaters, Library, ICT/Computers, Laboratories, Workshops and Administration for the Water Institute (WI).
- The objective of this consultancy is to design and later supervise construction of vertical extension of the identified buildings and rehabilitation of the same in the ground floor for improved quality and increased capacity of Wl buildings. The assignment is expected to start in September of 2020.
- The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment can be found at the following website: www.maji.go.tz/Tenders The Ministry of Water now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The short listing criteria are as follows:
- Core business of the firm and years in business. Experience in similar assignments (provide name and contact address of Client served). Experience in Similar Conditions (Sub-Saharan Africa of similar environment) Technical and managerial capability of the firm. (Provide only the structure of the organization, general qualifications and number of key staff. Do not provide CV of staff. Key experts will not be evaluated at the short listing stage.)
- The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to section Ill, paragraphs 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” of July 2016, revised November 2017 and August 2018 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
- Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualification but should indicate clearly whether the association is in the form of a joint venture and/or a sub-consultancy. In the case of a joint venture, all the partners in the joint venture shall be jointly and severally liable for the entire contract, if selected.
- A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Consultancy Qualification Selection method set out in the Procurement Regulations.
