Project Title: Recruitment of National Consultant for ITC-SITA Country Office in Tanzania
Duty Station: Dar es Salaam
Period of assignment: 160 working days distributed over 8 months
Eligibility: Qualified and experienced national consultants are invited to submit their proposals
Function/Duties:
The Consultant will perform the following duties as mentioned below:
• Support implementation of sector workplans for Tanzania for period August 2019 to March 2020, including preparation and organization of sector review meetings;
• Support inception phase of the SITA spin off on pulses and oilseeds in Tanzania;
• Organization of B2B and investment promotion activities in Tanzania which;
• Liaise with AMDT (Agricultural Markets Development Trust (Tanzania) on implementation of joint activities under the MoU on pulses and Sunflower Oil for the period April 2019 to March 2020;
• Facilitation of SMEs refresher training on export procedures and requirement;
• Preparation of Tanzania based SMEs and policy makers for attendance at International trade fairs and events including: CIIE In China November 2019, EPOSPEA in Addis in November 2019, WEDF in Addis in November 2019, International Spice Conference (ISC) in January 2020; IGPA Pulses Conclave 2020, Asia Pacific Leather Fair 2020, submitted;
• Support to ITME Africa 2020, including support to the profiling of Tanzanian companies and stakeholder mobilization and participation at ITME 2020;
• Facilitation of any capacity building mission and activities in Tanzania in relation to SITA support sectors
• Facilitation of any ad-hoc bilateral investment mission from India to Tanzania;
• Monitor investment opportunities in SITA sectors;
• Monitor any relevant developments at government or private sector level and report back to SITA, including through regular communication with SITA stakeholders and government partners;
• Provide on-the-ground feedback to companies with respect to challenges and new business opportunities;
• Ensure close coordination with SITA Admin Support, Tanzania;
• Preparation of SITA’s s end of project RBM and Knowledge Management activities – especially supporting follow up on results, ensuring all documents and reports for Tanzania are accounted for, reaching out to TISIs and other partners for knowledge dissemination, and facilitating interviews, meeting arrangements etc.
• Support SITA project closure activities as required
