Our client Sopa Lodges is a registered Tanzanian Company under Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212) and a leading Hospitality Company with Operations in Tanzania with major operations in Arusha Town, Serengeti in Mara region, Manyara, Tarangire National Park Arusha and Manyara region, other hospitality destination Tanzania and Zanzibar Island.
On behalf of the client management we are currently hiring for the above position to be part of they’re team. The role will be based in Serengeti National park in Tanzania.
Position Title: Sommelier
Reporting to: Food and Beverage Manager
Duty station: Elewana Serengeti Explorer
Salary: Competitive salary package
Start: Early January, 2024
Description of the position:
As a Sommelier:
Your responsibilities as the Sommelier will include but not limited to:
• Assist in creating and updating the wine list in coordination with Group Sommelier
• Recommend food and wine pairings
• Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
• Store open bottles properly
• Maintain the wine stock
• Manage sales and inventory
• Train staff on wines
• Organize wine-tasting days or events
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Any other lawful assignment given by the Superior or higher management from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
Profile:
• 3+ years of experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward/Stewardess or similar role
• The ability to influence others through skill and knowledge.
• Possessing a sound understanding of the wine industry and trends.
• Having a passion for wine
