Project has been extended to 19” November, 2021, Hence, the Specific Procurement Notice on Invitation for Prequalification of Contractors for the project, which was advertised on 14″ September, 2021 in Dally News Newspaper, on 10″ September, 2021 In ‘UNDB portal, and on 15th September, 2021 on AFD DG-MARKET is modified on its paragraph No. 5. in addition, paragraph Mo. 6 deleted as here below.

1, The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received fencing from the world Bank (WB) through International Development Association (IDA) and French Agency for Development /AFD) and a grant from European Union (EU) toward the cost for construction of the Tanzania-Zamive Transavssion Interconnector Protect (TAZA and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Proposed Plant Design, Supply. Construction, Installation and Commissioning of Tunduma 400’330KY Auto-transformation Substation and the 4km of 400k\/ Double Circuit Transmission Line (constructed ‘at 400kY but energized at 330kV/) from Tunduma substation to the Tanzania – Zambia border – Lot 4. The Lot 4 extends the Tunduma 400’220’33KV substation whose construction is under Lot 2 of PA.’001’2020-2021HOW.’46 – Lot 1, 2. & 3 under World Bank Financing by installation of 400’330kY auto-transformation switchgear and construction of 4km of 400KV Transmission line (constructed at 400kY but energized at 330kV) to Tanzania – Zambia border.

2. Tanzania Electric Supply Company Ltd (TANESCO) intends to prequalify contractors for the proposed plant design. supply. construction, installation, tasting and commissioning of the Tundums 400’330KV auto-transformation switchgear and the 4km of 400kY double arrcuit transmission line (constructed at 400kV but energized at 330k\/) from Tunduma substation to the Tanzania- Zambia border under the Tanzania-Zambia Transmssion interconnector Project ‘ TAZA} as Lot 4, that consist of: –

2) Lot 4: Tunduma 400/330kV auto-transformation switchgear and 4km of 400kV Double Cercutt TL from Tunduma substation to Zambian border, (constructed at 400kV but energized at 330kV)

1. Tunduma substation is located 18 km northwest of Tunduma Township in Mbeya Region. The substation will be designed as 8 400/330/220KV//33KY with a 400k double bus bar and line feeders to Mbeya and Sumbawanga and future 400kV lines towards northeast. The full implementation of Tunduma substation is divided into two (2] independent lots, the Lot 2 and Lot 4 financed by World Bank and European Union through AFD, respectively, and their implementation all fun in parallel The Lot 2 evolves construction of Tunduma 400’220″33kY green substation, while the Lot 4 involves the extension of Tunduma substation constructed under Lot 2 by installation of 400,’330kY auto-transformation switchgear and the construction of 4km 400kY transmission line ‘constructed at 400kY but energized at 330kV) from Tunduma substation to Tanzania – Zambia border.

2. The Tunduma substation under Lot 4 will be equipped with 3×250’250’65MVA, 400:330,’33kY Autotransformers for supplying 2 330kV double bus bar for connection of two 330kV line feeders heading to the border of Tanzania and Zambia, and further in to Zambia National Grid.

3. Access to 33 KY/ by the three winding Auto-transformer will supply AC to substation via 33 k¥ Auxiliary switchgear and 330.4 KV auxiliary’earthing transformers.

4. Construction of 4 km new 400 KY transmission double circuit line infrastructure from Tunduma substation to Zambian border is also included in the scope of Lot 4, however, will be energized at 330KV.

3. Prequalification wil be conducted through the procedures as specified in the AFD’s Procurement Regulations for Financed Contracts in Foreign Countries – V7, October, 2019 and is agent ta all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations,

Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) at the address given under no. 5 during office hours from 08 00 hours to 1/.00 hours. A complete set of Pre-qualification document in English language wall be available upon submission of application letter to the address given under no. 5 and upon payment of nonrefundable fee. The method of payment will be as follows:

(a) The Complete set of prequalification documents {hard and soft copy} may be purchased from the Offices indicated below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of USD 200 (two hundred USD or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency).

The applicant himself or his agent shall collect the Prequalification Documents at the Employer’s office from 8 Hours to 15:30Hours in normal working days.

(b) The prequalification documents may, also be delivered to Applicants by email in PDF format through Applicant’s email address provided to the client, upon proof of payment of the application fee. (Note: Applicants must make sure that they premed reliable addresses to avoid any communication difficulties) Applicant shall transmit a copy of Bank Payment Slip and his e-mail address to the e-mails below. Note: Bidders must also make sure that, the payments for application fee covers all bank charges. The addresses are [email protected] [email protected]
