Simba Supply Chain Solutions Limited, a multi-modal logistics company
in Tanzania is looking for motivated and highly experienced individual
to fill the position:
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
The Supply
Chain Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing and
monitoring the overall company supply chain strategy. He/she will also
have to collaborate with other departments, such as Operations and
Finance to maximize efficiency and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and coordinate supply chain strategies and activities to meet the Company’s business objectives.
- Develop
clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifies
priority activities and assignments; allocates appropriate amount of
time and resources for completing work; foresee risks and allow for
contingencies when planning. - Creating weekly and monthly,
current and forecasted capacity, and to ensure Sub Contractors, Clearing
Controllers and Fleet Controllers are aware of pipeline of cargo and
are booking the necessary assets. - Monitor ongoing developments
inside and outside the clients’ environment to keep informed and
anticipate problems; keeps clients informed of progress or setbacks in
projects; meet timelines for delivery of products or services to
clients. - Improve customer relations with more interaction and
communication with clients for retention purposes and onboarding of new
clients. - Timely issuance of monthly and quarterly reports to
communicate correctly and effectively on operations and clearing
performance with the aim to obtain maximum productivity and process
improvements. - Responsible to mentor, train, and develop designated operations and clearing staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Logistics and Supply Chain is preferred. A master’s degree in
Business Management will be an added advantage. - 7-10 years working experience at managerial operations position in a logistics / clearing and forwarding Company.
- Must
be self-motivated and energetic / energizes others to execute plans,
expects the best, open minded and upholds high integrity.
