Construction of Booster Pumping Stations for Water Supply Systems at Msoga and Chamakweza Villages in Chalinze District Council

Invitation for Tenders

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has set aside funds for the operation of the Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) during the financial year 2019 -2020. it intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment under the contract for the Construction of Booster Pumping Stations for Water Supply Systems at Msoga and Chamakweza Villages in Chalinze District Council.

The Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) now invites sealed Tenders from eligible Class three and above Civil contractors registered for carrying out Construction of Booster Pumping Stations for Water Supply Systems at Msoga and Chamakweza Villages in Chalinze District Council.

Scope of the works includes but not limited to:

  • Construction of Pump House at Msoga and Chamakweza Villages.
  • Supply and Installation of Pumps and Associated Mechanical and Plumbing Works
  • Construction of 675m3 (20.00 X 6.75 X 5.00m) reinforced concrete sump-well.
  • Construction of Guard House of vibrated solid cement and sand block wall.
  • Construction of chain link fence around the booster station.
  • Supply and Installation of 3 centrifuge split case horizontal pumps, each with a discharge of Q=60l/s at a duty head H=210m.
  • Supply, installation and commissioning of surge arrest equipment.
  • Supply and installation of Overhead motorized travelling crane.
  • Electron mechanical works for booster pump stations.
  • Power supply from TANESCO for boosting stations.

Bidders must quote for all items and quantities specified in the Bid Document. Bidder that will not quote for all items and quantities will be considered non responsive and the Bid will be rejected.

Tendering will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding specified in the Procurement Regulations Amendment 2016 Government Notice No.446 and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the Regulations unless otherwise stated in the Tender Data Sheet.

Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Document at the office of the Secretary of the Tender Board located at DAWASA Offices Mwananyamala opposite the Mwananyamala Hospital, P.O. Box 1573 Dar es Salaam from 8.00am to 4.00pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except public holidays.

A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given in Number 6 above upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings Two Hundred Thousand (Tshs. 200,000/=) only. Payment should be done by Cash, Banker’s Draft, or Banker’s Cheque, or telegraphic transfer to Chief Executive Officer, Account Name: DAWASA, Account Number 0111021921900 CRDB Bank Plc, Tower Branch, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. SWIFT code CORUTZTZ. Interested tenderers shall obtain control number for payment at DAWASA office, Sokoine Drive (Gerezani) near NSSF Water front Building. The pay in slip should be submitted and collect the tender document from the Secretary of tender Board, DAWASA Building, Dunga/ Malanga street, Opposite Mwananyamala Hospital, Dar Es Salaam.

All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender security of Tanzanian Shillings One Hundred Million (Tshs. 100,000,000) only or in freely convertible currencies in case of foreign Tenderers in an acceptable form of Bankers‘ Cheque or Bank Guarantee from a reputable bank operating in Tanzania in form of Bank guarantee.

All Tenders in one original plus two copies, properly filled in and sealed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address of the Secretary DAWASA Tender Board, Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA), Dunga/ Malanga street Opposite Mwananyamala Hospital, room number 21, DAWASA building Offices at or before 10.00am East Africa on Monday 9th September. 2019. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the DAWASA Boardroom.

Late Tenders portion of Tenders, electronic Tenders, Tenders not received, Tenders not opened at the Tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
