CONSTRUCTION OF NJOMBE REGIONAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND SERVICE CENTRE IN lUDEWA DISTRICT

1. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) AfDB34-01 / 15 of 20th January, 201 Sand on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org l.
2. The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has received loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB) in various currencies towards the cost of Support to Technical Vocational Education and Training and Teacher Education (STVETTE) project. It is intended that part 0f the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Njombe Regional Vocational Training and Service Center (RVTSC) in Ludewa District.
3. The Vocational Education Training of Tanzania (VETA) who is the Implementing Agency now invites sealed Bids from eligible Building Contractors registered with Contractors Registration Board (CRB) in Class I for the Construction of Simiyu Regional Vocational Training and
Service Center. National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procurement of Works: May 2008 edition revised July 2012.
4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at VETA Head Office to the following address:-

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzania
Shillings 250,000.00 (Two hundred Fifty Thousand Only) or in a free convertible currency for each set, payable by Banker’s Cheque or cash. Payment should be through Government electronic Payment Gateway
(GePG) upon obtaining the control number from VETA Head (Finance Department).
6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works, Smaller Contracts.
7. Bids must be delivered to The Secretary, VETA Tender Board, Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) Chang’ombe Road – off Nyerere Road in Chang’ombe Area – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at or before
14:00 hours local time on 15th August, 2019 and must be accompanied by a bid security in original and in acceptable form in the amount of Tanzanian shillings 140,000,000.00 or its equivalent in a free convertible currency. The Bid Security shall be clearly addressed to: The Director General, Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), P.O. Box 2849, Dar es Salaam.
8. A Pre- Bid meeting will take place on 29th July, 2019 at 10:00 Hours Local Time at VETA Head Office, Morgan Manyanga Conference Hall. A site visit conducted by the employer shall take place on 25th July, 2019 at 10:00
local time. Where by each tenderer will bear his own cost related to the site visit.
9. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend immediately after the deadline for submission of bids at Morgan Manyanga Conference Hall – VETA Headquarters; Dar es Salaam;
