CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR RESEARCH ON OCEANOGRAPHIC FACTORS INFLUENCING TUNA & TUNA-LIKE SPECIES IN THE TANZANIAN EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONE, TERRITORIAL SEA AND INTERNAL WATERS\ Reference NoTZ-DSFA-109000-CS-CQS

The Government of United Republic of Tanzania has received a Credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of South West Indian Ocean Fisheries Governance and Shared Growth program SWIOFlsh and Intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services.

The Consultant Firm ls expected to demonstrate experience in similar assignments over the past 12 years, carrying out research on fisheries and marine dynamics, oceanography and knowledge of the South West Indian Ocean context. Recognized and reputable Tanzanian Institutions involved in fisheries and oceanographic research are encouraged to apply. Foreign consulting firm/institutions shall be required to involve either researchers or recognized research and academic Institutions 1n Tanzania.

The shortlisting criteria shall Include but not limited to i) Core business of the firm ii) Experience of similar assignment In the held of Oceanographic research ill) Experience of having worked in the South West Indian Ocean lv) Technical and managerial capability of the firm (Provide only the structure and registration of the organization, general qualifications and number of key staff. Do not provide CV’S of staff since key experts will not be evaluated at the shortlisting stage)

The Deep Sea Fishing Authority (DSFA) Invites eligible consultants firms to express their interest In providing the above mentioned services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The assignment will be undertaken in a period of nine (9) months.

A consultant firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers; January 2011 revised July,2014 and Government Procedure set out in the Public Procurement Act and Disposal of Public Assets Act No 11 of 2016 of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar using procurement method of Consultants Qualification Selection -CQS).The attention of Interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 on conflict of interest and 1.14 on association between consultants of the above named World Bank’s guidelines.

Expression of interest in one original plus two (2) copies enclosed in a sealed envelope, clearly marked CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR RESEARCH ON OCEANOGRAPHIC FACTORS INFLUENCING TUNA &TUNA-LIKE SPECIES IN THE TANZANIAN WATERS REF NO: TZ-DSFA-109000-CS-CQS” must be delivered to the address below by 11:00 hours local time on 2ND MAY 2019 on the same time the envelopes will be opened in the presence of the applicants who wish to attend.
