The National Institute of Transport (NIT) through the Government of United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of East Africa for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the services”) include Consultancy Services for Design and Supervision of the proposed construction of NIT Center of Excellence in Aviation and Transport Operations Buildings and Facilities (Four “4” Buildings), one (1) building at JNIA and four (4) building at KIA) A total number of 21 months have been allocated for this assignment where by four (4) months will be for design assignment and eighteen (18) months for supervision.

The National Institute of Transport (NIT) now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications in terms of general and relevant specific experience in performing this Service. The short listing criteria are:
(a) The firm must have at least 10 years of general experience in design and supervision of Building and Civil works;
(b) The firm must have completed at least two (2) projects of similar nature and complexity (Design and Supervision of construction of Airport Facilities / Buildings) for the past ten (10) years with relevant evidence;
(c) The firm must have Experience of conducting similar assignment in Sub- Saharan Africa Region;
(d) The firm must have evidence of having Managerial and Technical capability to conducting this assignment.
NOTE: Key Experts will not be evaluated at the short listing stage.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” banks procurement regulations of Nov 2020 (Fourth Edition) (“Procurement Regulations”), (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to enhance their qualifications.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Consultant’s Qualification Selection (CQS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
