REQUEST FOR TENDER
ESIA AND GEOTECHNICAL CHARACTERIZATION
North Mara Gold Mine, a fully owned subsidiary of Twiga Minerals Corporation, which is ultimately owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania requests the submission of Tenders from reputable, experienced, certified and qualified parties to provide the following services:
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Geotechnical Characterization.
Pre-qualification criteria
(1) Current CVs of key personnel highlighting experience in relation to works stipulated.
(2) The Project Manager and various principal consultants should have at least 10-years’ experience of conducting mine related ESIA studies. and a MSc qualification
(3) The Project Sponsor/Lead needs 25 years or more experience in the mining and environmental field to assist in guiding the project to completion
(4) The Hydrogeologist must have a MSc qualification with a minimum of 10-years’ experience as a Geohydrologist involved in mine water studies.
(5) The Geochemist must have a MSc qualification with a minimum of 10-years’ experience as a specialist in environmental geochemistry. Experience in geochemical modelling is critical and needs to be demonstrated
(6) Specialist Leads and Reviewers of the biophysical specialist studies require a MSc qualification and minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field.
(7) Other related Specialists or Team members must possess BSc degree in this relevant field of Study with 3 years’ experience conducting mine related studies.
(8) Senior Reviewers of ESIA reports should have more than 20 years’ experience in the industry
9) Ability to demonstrate track record and evidence/references of at least 5 similar projects.
(10) Demonstration of similar projects with other Barrick operations and sites will be an added advantage.
(11) Demonstration of similar and relevant closure work including pit lake modeling.
(12) Experience in the development of water management plans that also include passive treatment
options needs to be demonstrated.
