- This invitation for tender follow general procurement notice for this project which appeared in Daily News issue no 976510002 dated 1st July 2020
- The government of Tanzania has a set aside fund for the operations of Marine Services Company Limited during the financial year 2020/2021, its intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover payment under the contract for REHABILITATION OF MV. UMOJA FOR TENDER NO PA/115/MSCL/W/2020-2021/06/LAKE VICTORIA
- MSCL now invites sealed tender from eligible firms/contractors for the REHABILITATION OF MV. UMOJA FOR TENDER NO PA/115/MSCL/W/2020-2021/06/LAKE VICTORIA
- Tendering will be conducted through the international competitive bidding as specified in the public procurement regulations 2016- government notice no 446. And open to all tenders as defined in the regulations
- Interested eligible tenders must provide information’s in details as follows s
A. Experience in Constructions and Rehabilitation /Refurbishment of Ship
- Minimum of 5 yrs experience in the field and not less than 3 projects of ships designs, constructions and repair
- Evidence of 3 successful completed projects
B. Financial Capability
- Minimum average turnover in the last 5 yrs on shipyard constructions experience of UDS 4 Million
- Demonstrated ability to finance a minimum of 3 USD Millions of ship constructions
C. Personal Experience from the contractor
- marine engineers – machinery installation
- Electrical engineers – electrical installation
- Naval architects – ship design
- Electronics engineers/electronic equipment
- Chief welding specialist – welding and painting
- Dockyard engineer/master launching
- Pipeline engineer – piping system
- Mechanical engineer – Auxiliary machineries etc
D. Manufacture authorization letter of the machineries, engines and components to be installed onboard
- Complete set of tendering document in English and additional sets may be purchased by interested tenders on the submission of written application to the address given under paragraph 9 below and upon of payment of non-refundable fee of TZS 500,00/ or equivalent of USD 250, Payment should either be by cash bankers draft or banker cheque payable to

- All tenders must be accompanied by an original tender security of 10% of the bid price in an acceptable form
- The site visit will be held on 9th December 2020 10:00 HRS at Mwanza South Port by pr-tender meeting which shall be held on 10th December 2020 at 1000 at MSCL HQ Contractor will bear own travels and upkeep costs
