The Periodic Maintenance of Finya-Kicha (8.8 km) Road in
Pemba Island to Bitumen Standard

Invitation for Tenders

Date 23/07/2019

1. This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project which appeared in Zanzibar Leo Newspaper Issue no. 5789 dated 22nd July, 2019.

2. The Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has set aside funds for the operation of the Ministry of infrastructure, Communication and.Transportation during the financial year 2019-2020. It is intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment under the contract for The Periodic Maintenance of Finya-Kicha (8.8 km) Road in Pemba Island to Bitumen Standard.

3. The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication and Transportation now invites sealed tenders from eligible contractors registered in civil Engineering Class One Only by the Contractors registration Board for carrying out the works. The contractor who will be awarded the contract shall be registered by Zanzibar Contractors Registration Board (if not registered). The brief descriptions of major activities are as follows: –

4. Tendering will be conducted through the lnternational Competitive Bidding a procedure specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) section 69, and is open to all Tenderers as defined in the regulations.

5. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the Tendering Documents at the office of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication and Transportation Head Offices’ Kisauni Area, Zanzibar, P.O. Box 266, Kisauni-Zanzibar from 09:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs from Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public holidays.

6. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English Language and additional sets may be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to the address given under paragraph 5 above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Only (TZS 350,000/=). Payment should be made through Account no: 0403849000 KATIBU MKUU UJENZI MAWASILIANO NA USAFIRISHAJI – (PBZ BANK).

7. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Security in the form of Bank Guarantee in the amount of Tanzanian Shillings Twenty Million only (TZS 20,000,000) or freely convertible currencies in case of foreign Tenderers.

8. All tenders in one original plus two copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address below

At or before 10:00 am on Tuesday 3rd September 2019. Tenders will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication and Transportation, P.O. Box 266,.
Kisauni Zanzibar.

A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be on Wednesday 07th August, 2019 at 10:00 am at Ministry of Infrastructure, Communication and Transportation Office, Chakechake Pemba.

9. Late tenders, portion of tenders, electronic tenders, and tenders not received, tenders not opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstance.
